Which photographs, measurements, proof marks, condition notes, provenance details, and personal stories make a gun record most useful to another collector? Share what you look for—and what people most often leave out.
When you ask the community to identify a gun, proof mark, engraving detail, or component, include clear photographs of the whole object and every marking you can find. Add measurements, the serial-number range when you are comfortable sharing it, and anything already known about provenance. What other details help you reach a sound identification?
